Well, that about wraps it up for film then. Now we just need the price to come down.
The only two things I read on 9/11 about 9/11 were Salon’s Forbidden Thoughts About 9/11 and the followup Readers’ Letters.
It’s a curious mixture. Some of the forbidden thoughts are praiseworthy skeptical and political ones; some display breathtaking self-centeredness and lack of compassion. I can’t help but wonder why they didn’t bother to quote Elizabeth Wurtzel:
“I just felt, like, everyone was overreacting. People were going on about it. That part really annoyed me.”
“I had not the slightest emotional reaction. I thought, ‘This is a really strange art project.’”
“You know what was really funny? After the fact, like, all these different writers were writing these things about what it was like, and nobody bothered to call me.”
I can’t think why.
