Microsoft claim that the following testimonial was written by a seventh-grader (12 year old):
I can’t begin to tell you all the ways that Encarta helped with that first assignment, though I should mention that the historical map of France from the Interactive World Atlas and the drawing of Louis XVI from the Multimedia/Photos section, both of which I printed, made a stunning centerpiece for my poster. The features never seem to stop: up-to-date content delivered as soon as it is available; 2-D and 3-D Virtual Tours of famous monuments and natural features; the Dictionary, Thesaurus, and Translation Dictionaries; and the Web Center with real-time news right on my computer as it happens.
They’ve now pulled the ad from the web, but it’s still in Google’s cache. Anyone recognize the clip art?

Senate votes and House votes for bombing Iraq whenever Acting President Bush feels like it.
Voting yea for war in MA: John Kerry, Stephen F. Lynch, Edward J. Markey, Marty Meehan.
While we’re at it, both MA senators voted for the USA-‘PATRIOT’ act (aka USA Act for the Senate vote), as did Lynch, Markey and Meehan, as well as Richard Neal and William Delahunt.
I sent e-mail to Kennedy at the time expressing shock that even he voted for it. I didn’t get any reply.

A Michigan man left his 3 year old son in a crack house while he went to score more crack. After five hours it became clear to him that he was so out of it that he couldn’t even remember where the crack house was, so he called police and asked them for help. The boy was found the next morning by a man and woman who dropped him off unharmed at a local church.
