Rewarding failure
Remember the Florida company that was responsible for the inaccurate database that disenfranchised tens of thousands of people in the 2000 elections, claiming they were felons barred from voting when they actually weren’t? Republicans claimed it was an innocent mistake by the company concerned.
Well, they’ve just been given at least $11 million and made responsible for collecting vital intelligence data on possible illegal immigrants. It’s part of a long term contract worth $67 million that runs until 2005.
So that’s what punishment for incompetence looks like…
