Here we are in 2006, and Intel still feels the need to engage in sexist advertising—on their home page, even.
Yes, a Centrino Duo will make a hot babe suddenly appear and sit on your lap, boys. “I’d Core her Duo! Eh? Eh?”
On a not unrelated note, Sony have a banner advert for Daxter running on Penny Arcade. At the end, a cartoon squirrel explains that it wants to hump the PSP.
I’m not sure how that’s supposed to make me want to buy one, but I suppose it’s no worse than McDonalds advertising a kid wanting to go all American Pie on one of their burgers.

It’s not just a hot babe, it’s a famous singer I don’t recognize, which is why it’s “entertainment in your lap”.
They’re equal-opportunity sexists, at least; the TV ad from the same campaign has a famous male movie star who I don’t recognize either sitting on the lap of a thirtysomething woman on a plane. Ah, they’ve got it here, mouse over “Movies”:

And “Gaming” rounds things out.

It’s Mariah Carey.
In the UK they’ve got ads with the footballer Michael Owen, the actress Lucy Lui and a whole load of others. A voiceover burbles on about being able to take these things (film, music, sport) and so on with you on your laptop.
Admittedly though if you don’t recognise these people a straightforward still does look a bit dubious without the full context.

I still think they should have had Graham Norton sitting on the guy’s lap. Now that would have been funny.
