Snopes calls false on the Nazi Fanta story.
Well, not really. They call false on three variants of the story, none of which I’ve heard anyone claim. (One might almost think they’re erecting straw men, in fact.)
They confirm the facts of the story, with only two questionable areas:
1. Was there widespread sentiment that Coca-Cola was a Jewish company and that loyal Germans shouldn’t drink it?
2. Was the flavor of Fanta tailored to German tastes, or was it decided purely on the basis of the limited flavorings available at the time?
I don’t see any information either way about those issues in the Snopes article.
