How do you know he’s not pecking at it because he finds it utterly infuriating?

Things he doesn’t like, he ignores, or tosses to the floor of the cage if they’re in his food bowl. Whereas he puts in a lot of effort to be with the disco ball. He also licks it, rather than pecking at it.
