Metal Gear Tits (spoilers for Metal Gear Solid games)
I skipped “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes” because of the disgusting misogyny. I played “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker” instead, only to discover borderline pedophilia. I was desperately hoping that “Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain” would be less creepy, but it seems those hopes have been dashed:
Taken captive, she’s dressed in prisoner garb – trousers and a shirt – and, because she breathes through her skin, she’s slowly suffocating. An unnamed guard grabs her by the throat and forces her up onto a tank of water, and whilst straddled between her legs he bends her over backwards with her face into the water, throttling her until she stops struggling. The camera zooms in to focus on her blue lips and deadened eyes and we hear a fly unzipped and clothing removed – it’s truly grotesque. Yet, with her skin exposed, she’s able to breathe again and she turns the tables on her aggressors. An attempted rape has saved her.
A female character who is forced to wander around nearly naked for the entire game, and who is saved from death by an attempted rape? Talk about creepy messages.
At this point I’m glad Hideo Kojima fell out with Konami and isn’t going to get to make the next Silent Hill game. God only knows what he’d make if he was actually trying to come up with something horrific.
