Scientists have successfully produced human-rabbit hybrid cells. And if that’s not bad enough, they were cloned from foreskins.
Many SF writers have predicted that it is inevitable that mankind will end up producing bizarre hybrids of human and animal, simply because we can. I used to think that was a ridiculous idea. In retrospect, I should have realized that a race capable of inventing things like the atomic bomb and chemical weapons wouldn’t be too squeamish about creating man-bunnies.
