I’ve tried to keep a diary a couple of times, but the habit never stuck. A few months ago I realized that what I really wanted was something like a cross between a time log and a journal. It had to be digital and searchable, because the main reason for wanting it was to be able to answer questions like: How many days have I spent outside the USA in the last 5 years?
While I have a backup of everything I posted to my own journal, and had taken copies of my lengthier and more worthy posts to other people’s journals, I do not have a backup of all my comments in other people’s journals and communities. If I wrote something in your journal, it’s gone. If you don’t like that, you’ll have to take it up with the LJ Abuse team or someone higher up the LiveJournal chain of command.
